Intervention - Individual or Family Therapy
Dr. McHolm provides a range of intervention services for children, youth, parents and families. Depending on a child or family’s needs, intervention can take many forms including:

individual one-on-one therapy,

parent-child work,

family counselling
A wide range of issues can be addressed including anxiety, low mood, learning difficulties, trauma, adjustment issues (e.g., divorce, grief, life transitions), parent-child relations, or interpersonal challenges.
Dr. McHolm is trained and has experience serving a range of populations, working from a variety of treatment approaches. Her clinical intervention is directed by best practice guidelines and draws on current, relevant research regarding evidence-based practice.
Treatment orientations offered include, but are not limited to, Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT-informed), Narrative, Strength-based, Solution-focused, and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). The treatment approach used in each instance is based on an initial clinical assessment and tailored to the individual needs of a child, youth or family (i.e., based on presenting issues, client’s preferred format for treatment etc.).
